CYP Fishy Business
Join CYP at the South Carolina Aquarium to expand your network, learn about the Aquarium’s Conservation Efforts, Green Practices and Sustainable Seafood Initiative, and tour the Sea Turtle Hospital. Families are welcome!

Time: 6 – 8 p.m.

6:00 p.m. –  Registration
6:45 p.m. – Sea Turtle Hospital Tours begin

Place: 100 Aquarium Wharf

Cost: $10 members, $20 nonmembers (Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages included)

For a Behind the Scenes Tour of the Sea Turtle Hospital, please bring one of the following items as a donation:


Bleach

Dishwashing detergent (antibacterial preferably)
2X concentrated laundry detergent (dye and perfume free preferably)
Dish sponge/scrub pads
Small trash liners
Black sharpies
Mechanical pencils
Gift Certificates to Lowes, Home Depot or Wal-Mart

There will also be a Recycling Station that will collect the following items:

Cell phones (any and all kinds – including the chargers)
Bottle caps (must be screw tops – soft drink style)
Batteries: Alkaline (every day disposable batteries)
Rechargeable Batteries (NiCd, NiMh, Lead, Silver, Mercury, Lithium,
Power tool batteries

Battery types not taken – Car and boat batteries

Here are some tips on how to plan an eco-friendly visit to the Aquarium:

Ride CARTA – The Charleston Area Transportation Authority offers shuttle bus rides directly to the Aquarium Wharf from all around Charleston. View CARTA schedule

Carpool – Save on gas and parking fees too!

Take a Hike! Help conserve by walking through the beautiful downtown Charleston peninsula as you travel to the Aquarium
